You'll find strong 4G coverage throughout the central business district, including areas like Kololo and Nakasero. The signal remains consistent while traveling in vehicles or on boda-bodas (motorcycle taxis). However, indoor coverage can sometimes weaken inside large, dense concrete buildings or basement levels of shopping malls.

Entebbe: Home to Uganda's main international airport (EBB), Entebbe has excellent network coverage, especially in and around the airport, major hotels, and the shores of Lake Victoria. The signal is consistently strong, ensuring travelers can get connected with a stable 4G connection immediately upon arrival and throughout the municipality's key areas.

Jinja: In the adventure capital of East Africa, you can expect good 4G connectivity within Jinja's town center and at the main tourist lodges and sites near the Source of the Nile. The network is generally stable for regular use, but the signal may become less reliable when you are out on the water for activities like rafting or in more remote areas away from the riverbanks.

Mbarara: As a major city and transport hub in Western Uganda, Mbarara provides solid 4G network coverage in its bustling city center and along the main roads. This makes it a reliable point for connectivity when transiting to national parks like Queen Elizabeth or Bwindi. As you move into the city's residential outskirts or surrounding rural areas, the signal may drop to 3G.

Gulu: Gulu, the primary urban center in Northern Uganda, has dependable 4G connectivity in the heart of the city, particularly around commercial areas and Gulu University. The network is reliable for calls and data, but signal strength can decrease noticeably as you travel into the more rural sub-counties outside the main town.

Major Highway Corridors: Mobile coverage is generally reliable along the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway and other primary routes such as the A104 connecting Kampala to Jinja and the road south to Masaka and Mbarara. However, expect signal to weaken or drop temporarily in the rural stretches between major towns.

Uganda Railways: The meter-gauge passenger railway primarily serves as a commuter line within the Kampala metropolitan area, where network signal is consistently strong. On the less-traveled lines extending towards other regions, cellular connectivity is not prioritized and is often unavailable.

Western Highlands and Mountains: Traveling through the Rwenzori Mountains or the Kigezi Highlands of the southwest results in significant signal loss. Coverage is very sparse to non-existent in valleys and on mountain slopes, particularly around areas like Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
