eSIM Installed But No Data — How to Fix

This is the most common eSIM issue. Your eSIM is installed, but you have no internet connection. In most cases, this is a settings issue that takes 2 minutes to fix.

Step 1: Check Data Roaming

The number one cause of "no data" is Data Roaming being turned off. This must be ON for your eSIM to work outside your home country.

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [Bcengi line] → Data Roaming → ON
  • Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → [Bcengi] → Data Roaming → ON
  • Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → [Bcengi] → Data Roaming → ON

Step 2: Set Bcengi as Your Data Line

Your phone may be routing data through your physical SIM instead of the eSIM.

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → select Bcengi
  • Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → set Bcengi as Mobile Data
  • Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Mobile Data → select Bcengi

Step 3: Toggle Airplane Mode

This forces your phone to disconnect and reconnect to the network:

  1. Turn Airplane Mode ON
  2. Wait 10 seconds
  3. Turn Airplane Mode OFF
  4. Wait 30 seconds for the connection to establish

Step 4: Check APN Settings (Android Only)

This is the number one Android-specific fix. Many Android phones need the APN manually set.

  1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → [Bcengi] → Access Point Names
  2. If globaldata is listed and selected, you are all set
  3. If not, tap Add (or the + icon):
    • Name: Bcengi
    • APN: globaldata
    • Leave all other fields blank/default
    • Save and select the new APN

Step 5: Restart Your Phone

A full restart clears network caches and forces a fresh connection to local networks.

Step 6: Check Your Balance

If your balance is $0, the eSIM cannot connect. Log in at travel.bcengi.com to check your balance and add funds if needed.

Step 7: Check Network Selection

Make sure your phone is set to Automatic network selection, not manual.

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [Bcengi line] → Network Selection → Automatic
  • Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → [Bcengi] → Automatically select network
