Install Your eSIM on iPhone in Under 2 Minutes
Installing an eSIM on your iPhone is quick and straightforward. You need a WiFi connection (or existing mobile data) and your eSIM QR code from your confirmation email or account portal. Before You Start
- Make sure your iPhone is XR or newer (iPhone XR, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, SE 2nd/3rd gen)
- Your iPhone must be carrier-unlocked — if bought through a carrier, contact them to confirm
- You need an active internet connection (WiFi or mobile data) to download the eSIM profile
- Have your QR code ready — check your confirmation email or log in at bcengi.com
Method 1: QR Code Installation (Recommended)
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap Cellular (or Mobile Service in some regions)
- Tap Add eSIM
- Select Use QR Code
- Point your camera at the QR code and wait for it to scan
- Tap Continue when prompted, then Done
Method 2: Manual Entry
If you cannot scan the QR code (for example, it is displayed on the same phone):
- Go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
- Tap Enter Details Manually
- Enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code from your account
- Tap Next and follow the prompts
After Installation — Essential Settings
Your eSIM is installed, but you need to configure two critical settings:
- Enable Data Roaming: Go to Settings → Cellular → tap your Bcengi eSIM line → toggle Data Roaming ON
- Set Bcengi as your data line: Go to Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → select your Bcengi line
Keep your regular SIM active for calls and texts. Bcengi provides data only — your phone number stays on your physical SIM.
Activation Time
Your eSIM activates in 5–10 seconds. In rare cases, it may take up to a minute. If it does not connect, toggle Airplane Mode on and off, then wait 30 seconds.
Tip: Install Before You Travel
You can install your eSIM at home on WiFi and it will be ready when you land. The eSIM does not start using data until you enable it as your data line abroad.
