Reinstall Your eSIM After a Phone Reset
If you factory reset your phone or restored from a backup, your eSIM profile may have been removed. The good news: your balance is tied to your account, not the eSIM profile. Reinstalling takes just a few minutes.
Step 1: Check if the eSIM Survived the Reset
- iPhone: Go to Settings → Cellular — if your Bcengi line is still listed, it survived. Just enable it and check Data Roaming.
- Android: Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs — look for the Bcengi eSIM.
If the eSIM is no longer listed, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Get Your QR Code
- Log in at travel.bcengi.com
- Go to your eSIM detail page
- Click eSIM QR & Info
- Scan the QR code to reinstall
Step 3: Configure Settings
- Enable Data Roaming on the Bcengi line
- Set Bcengi as your data line
- Android: Verify APN is set to globaldata
If the QR Code Does Not Work
After a reset, the old eSIM profile may need to be released before a new one can be issued. Contact support@bcengi.com — the team will release the old profile and provide a fresh activation code. This usually takes just a few minutes.
Bcengi TravelPass is a pay-as-you-go eSIM — you only pay for data you use, with no bundles, no expiry, and no contracts. One eSIM works in 200+ countries.
