Use Dual SIM: Your Number + Travel eSIM Data
Dual SIM lets you keep your regular phone number active for calls and texts while using a travel eSIM for data. This is the most common and recommended setup for travelers. Bcengi TravelPass is a pay-as-you-go eSIM — you only pay for data you use, with no bundles, no expiry, and no contracts. One eSIM works in 200+ countries.
How Dual SIM Works
- Your physical SIM (or primary eSIM) handles calls, texts, and your phone number
- Your Bcengi eSIM handles mobile data at local rates
- Both work simultaneously — no switching needed
iPhone Setup
- Install your Bcengi eSIM (Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM)
- Go to Settings → Cellular
- Under Cellular Data, select your Bcengi line
- Under Default Voice Line, keep your regular SIM selected
- Tap on the Bcengi line and enable Data Roaming
- Optional: Turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching to prevent your phone from using your regular SIM for data (which would incur roaming charges)
Android / Samsung Setup
- Install your Bcengi eSIM
- Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs (Samsung: Connections → SIM Manager)
- Set Mobile Data to your Bcengi eSIM
- Set Calls and SMS to your regular SIM
- Enable Data Roaming for the Bcengi line
- Check that APN is set to globaldata for the Bcengi eSIM
Important Tips
- Disable data on your regular SIM to avoid roaming charges from your home carrier
- Bcengi is data-only — it does not replace your phone number or SMS
- Apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, and Telegram work over Bcengi data
- iMessage and regular SMS will use your physical SIM as normal
