How to Use eSIM Hotspot and Tethering

Share Your eSIM Data via Hotspot

You can share your Bcengi eSIM data connection with other devices like laptops, tablets, or travel companions' phones using your phone's Personal Hotspot (tethering) feature.

iPhone Hotspot Setup

  1. Go to Settings → Personal Hotspot
  2. Toggle Allow Others to Join → ON
  3. Note the WiFi password shown
  4. On your other device, connect to your iPhone's WiFi network using that password

Important: Make sure your Bcengi eSIM is set as the Cellular Data line (Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Bcengi). The hotspot shares whichever SIM is set for data.

Android / Samsung Hotspot Setup

  1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Hotspot & Tethering (Samsung: Connections → Mobile Hotspot and Tethering)
  2. Tap WiFi Hotspot and toggle it ON
  3. Set a network name and password
  4. Connect your other devices to this WiFi network

Data Usage with Hotspot

  • All devices sharing your hotspot use your Bcengi balance
  • Laptops and tablets tend to use more data than phones (background updates, sync, etc.)
  • Streaming video over hotspot can use 1–3 GB per hour
  • Consider enabling Auto-Refill if sharing data with multiple devices

Tips to Save Data While Tethering

  • Disable automatic updates on connected devices
  • Disable cloud sync (iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive) temporarily
  • Use data saver modes in browsers
  • Stream at lower quality (480p instead of 1080p)
