Your Bcengi TravelPass eSIM can connect at sea on most major cruise lines through partnerships with maritime mobile networks. Coverage works the same way as on land: your eSIM connects automatically when in range, and you pay only for the data you use.
Cruise data is currently $52.96/GB. This is brand new in the industry and will get cheaper over time. Because it is significantly more expensive than land roaming, we have made cruise coverage opt-in only. By default, your Bcengi eSIM will not connect at sea.

Email support@bcengi.com from the email address on your Bcengi account, and we will enable cruise coverage for your eSIM. This is a one-time setup: once enabled, your eSIM will connect at sea on any future cruise too. We recommend doing this a few days before your trip so it is ready when you board.

Coverage is available when the ship's onboard cellular system is active, typically when the ship is offshore. In port, your eSIM connects to local land networks at the destination's standard country rate.
