What the pass includes that a data eSIM does not
AT&T's pass includes talk and text on your number. Bcengi is data only: your number stays on your AT&T line, and apps like WhatsApp and FaceTime call over the eSIM's data.
AT&T international questions
How much does an international plan cost with AT&T?
AT&T International Day Pass is $12 a day for the first line and $6 a day for each additional line used the same calendar day.
How does my AT&T plan work internationally?
With the AT&T pass on an eligible unlimited plan, your plan's talk, text and data work abroad. A 24-hour pass starts the first time you use the phone in an included destination, and AT&T charges only for the days you use it.
Does AT&T have a 30 day international plan?
AT&T's International Day Pass page lists a daily fee, not a 30-day plan. If you use your AT&T phone on every day of a 30-day trip, 30 days x $12 = $360 for one line.
Which AT&T plan is best for international travel?
AT&T's Day Pass is added to its eligible unlimited plans. We did not compare AT&T's plans with each other. For data alone, compare the pass with paying as you go above.
How do I use a travel eSIM instead of the AT&T pass?
Install the eSIM at home, set it as your data line, and turn data roaming off for your AT&T line so it does not use data abroad. See turn roaming off on your home line. Making or accepting a call or sending a text on your AT&T number abroad still starts a $12 day.
How these figures were measured
The usage figures come from Bcengi's 2026 International Mobile Data Usage Report: a stratified random sample of 10,000 travel periods, with usage from January 1 to September 30, 2026. The figures cover every destination in the sample, not one country.
Each trip cost on this page is a model, not a bill: the GB a trip used times the per-GB rate on our pricing page on October 2, 2026. Rates can change; the pricing page always has the current ones.
