What Orange, Bouygues Telecom, SFR and Free charge for data outside the EU

  • Orange: the Pass Voyage 1 (75 destinations, Morocco, Japan and Turkey among them) and the Pass USA/Canada cost €9.99 (US$11.39) for unlimited data over 3 days, or €29.99 (US$34.19) for 10 days. Neither pass comes in a 7-day version; a pass can be bought again, so a week takes three 3-day passes, €29.97 (US$34.17) for 9 days.
  • With Orange you pay for 9 days to cover 7, and each pass costs the same however little data you use.
  • Bouygues Telecom: the Pass Monde costs €30 (US$34.20) for 3 GB over 30 days in 120 destinations, Morocco, the US, Japan and Turkey among them. The Pass Confort (Japan, Turkey), Pass USA & Canada and Pass Maghreb (Morocco) cost €35 (US$39.90) for 10 GB, 12 GB and 8 GB respectively.
  • The trip uses 1.38 GB of the 3 GB pass, so more than half of what you paid for is left unused when it expires.
  • SFR: each Pack Séjour lasts 30 days. Maghreb and USA/Canada/Mexique cost €30 (US$34.20) for 35 GB, Moyen-Orient (Turkey) €30 for 15 GB, Asie/Océanie (Japan) €35 (US$39.90) for 10 GB, and Suisse/Andorre €10 (US$11.40) for 5 GB on plans that do not include Switzerland.
  • The trip uses 1.38 GB of whichever pack you buy: more than nine tenths of a 35 GB or 15 GB pack is left unused when it expires, more than four fifths of the 10 GB pack and nearly three quarters of the 5 GB pack.
  • Free: on the Forfait Free 5G+, data costs €3.00 per MB in Morocco and €9.70 per MB in Japan; on the Série Free, €0.99 per MB in Switzerland. At €3.00 per MB, the 1.38 GB of a median 7-day trip in Morocco comes to €4,140.

How these figures were measured

The usage figures come from Bcengi's 2026 International Mobile Data Usage Report: a stratified random sample of 10,000 travel periods, with usage from January 1 to September 30, 2026. The figures cover every destination in the sample, not one country.

Everyone sampled chose a pay-as-you-go eSIM, so the figures describe those travelers, not all travelers.

Each trip cost on this page is a model, not a bill: the GB a trip used times the per-GB rate on our pricing page on October 4, 2026. Rates can change; the pricing page always has the current ones.

Euro prices are converted to US dollars at the Federal Reserve's rate for September 25, 2026, 1.1400 US dollars per euro.
