What Vodafone charges for data abroad

  • The United States and Turkey: Vodafone charges £8 a day on plans bought on or after August 11, 2021, and £6 a day on plans bought before. A day lasts 24 hours from when roaming is detected, and every day you use your phone there is charged, however little data it uses.
  • Spain, France and Italy: Vodafone charges £2.75 a day, or £16 ($21.20) for the 8-day European Roaming pass, which costs less than a week of daily charges.

How these figures were measured

The usage figures come from Bcengi's 2026 International Mobile Data Usage Report: a stratified random sample of 10,000 travel periods, with usage from January 1 to September 30, 2026. The figures cover every destination in the sample, not one country.

Everyone sampled chose a pay-as-you-go eSIM, so the figures describe those travelers, not all travelers.

Each trip cost on this page is a model, not a bill: the GB a trip used times the per-GB rate on our pricing page on October 3, 2026. Rates can change; the pricing page always has the current ones.

Pound prices are converted to US dollars at the Federal Reserve's rate for September 25, 2026, 1.3250 US dollars per pound.
