T-Mobile International Pass vs Pay As You Go, by the Trip and by the Year

On a four-line T-Mobile account, moving up from Essentials 2.0 for high-speed data abroad costs $20 a line a month ($240 a year) for 5 GB, or $35 ($420 a year) for 15 GB; one line pays more. Without a step-up, T-Mobile's 10-day International Pass is $50 for 15 GB.

The comparison is for someone who would otherwise stay on T-Mobile's Essentials 2.0 and move up a plan for travel data. It is not a charge on people already on the higher plans, which include other features too.

What the T-Mobile International Pass is

  • T-Mobile 1 Day Pass: $10 for 2 GB of high-speed data and free calls for up to 24 hours.
  • T-Mobile 10 Day Pass: $50 for 15 GB of high-speed data and free calls for up to 10 days.
  • T-Mobile 30 Day Pass: $75 for 30 GB of high-speed data and free calls for up to 30 days.

T-Mobile sells the passes in 215+ countries and destinations. A pass needs a qualifying plan, and only one can be active at a time: activating a new pass ends the old one. T-Mobile's Essentials 2.0 lists no high-speed data abroad. Prices as listed on T-Mobile's website, read October 2, 2026.

The yearly premium of moving up a T-Mobile plan

On four lines, T-Mobile's broadband labels price Essentials 2.0 at $140 a month, Experience More 2.0 at $220 and Experience Beyond 2.0 at $280, before AutoPay (T-Mobile's website, read October 2, 2026).

  • Experience Beyond 2.0, 15 GB of high-speed data abroad: T-Mobile adds $35 a line a month, $420 a year, on four lines.
  • One line pays more: T-Mobile adds $25 a month ($300 a year) for Experience More 2.0 and $40 a month ($480 a year) for Experience Beyond 2.0.
  • On T-Mobile's Essentials 2.0 4 Line Offer, $120 a month for four lines, the step-up to Experience More 2.0 is $25 a line a month.

T-Mobile's AutoPay discount of $5 a line applies to every plan, so it does not change these differences.

What the pass includes that a data eSIM does not

T-Mobile's passes include calls on your number. Bcengi is data only: your number stays on your T-Mobile line, apps like WhatsApp and FaceTime call over the eSIM's data, and you can share the eSIM's data as a hotspot.

T-Mobile international questions

How much does a 10-day T-Mobile International Pass cost?

T-Mobile's 10 Day Pass is $50 for 15 GB of high-speed data and free calls for up to 10 days.

How much does a T-Mobile international plan cost?

T-Mobile's passes are $10 for a day, $50 for 10 days and $75 for 30 days. Moving up from Essentials 2.0 to Experience More 2.0, with up to 5 GB of high-speed data abroad, adds $20 a line a month on four T-Mobile lines and $25 on one.

Does T-Mobile offer an international plan?

Yes. T-Mobile's Experience More 2.0 and Experience Beyond 2.0 include high-speed data abroad, and an International Pass adds data and calls to a qualifying plan.

How do I add an international plan to T-Mobile?

In the T-Life app, select your line, tap Manage Add-Ons and Data, choose the pass, pick a start date (or it starts at once) and tap Agree & Submit. You can also add it in My T-Mobile on the web.

Will T-Mobile charge me for international data?

A T-Mobile pass is a fixed price for its days. After its high-speed data is used, T-Mobile slows data to plan speed. T-Mobile charges extra in destinations a pass does not include.

Which T-Mobile plan is best for international travel?

It depends on how often you travel and what else you want from the plan. For data alone, compare T-Mobile's $240 a line a year for 5 GB with a year of trips paying as you go above.

Can I use my T-Mobile phone internationally?

Yes, in 215+ countries and destinations with a qualifying T-Mobile plan. T-Mobile says its service abroad is not for extended international use and that you must reside in the U.S.

Is the T-Mobile International Pass worth it?

For data alone, T-Mobile's 10-day pass costs $50 for a 7-day trip. Paying as you go with Bcengi, a median 7-day trip's 1.38 GB is $1.64 in the United Kingdom at $1.19/GB, metered by the KB. The pass also includes calls.

How do I use a travel eSIM instead?

Install the eSIM at home, set it as your data line, and turn data roaming off for your T-Mobile line so it does not use data abroad. See turn roaming off on your home line.

How these figures were measured

The usage figures come from Bcengi's 2026 International Mobile Data Usage Report: a stratified random sample of 10,000 travel periods, with usage from January 1 to September 30, 2026. The figures cover every destination in the sample, not one country.

Everyone sampled chose a pay-as-you-go eSIM, so the figures describe those travelers, not all travelers.

Each trip cost on this page is a model, not a bill: the GB a trip used times the per-GB rate on our pricing page on October 2, 2026. Rates can change; the pricing page always has the current ones.
